It’s Only Temporary

Regular readers will have noticed that I’ve been MIA recently. All I can say about the past few weeks is to quote that old Chinese curse, “May you live in interesting times.”

Let’s just say that sometimes, one’s ‘times’ are a little too interesting. Between hurricanes, work, a new gastic ulcer, a broken clothes dryer, and barely avoiding an attack the other day by a very nasty dog, I’ve been a little farmisht and farmutshet lately. And those are just a few of the highlights (lowlights?). Nothing insurmountable, really, and only temporarily life-threatening. Just a bit of a pile-up and a consequent melt-down.

Even Amazons need to rest, recharge and stay out of the fray now and then. So, although I regret that Life, with a capital L, will continue to keep me away from this blog for perhaps another week or two, I do have a vacation coming up. I promise I’ll be back, in my usual fighting trim, as soon as I can. In the meantime, now’s your chance to browse through The Vault and check out a few posts you may not have read yet or revisit a few that you’ve enjoyed in the past. You might also visit a few of the able and articulate bloggers in my blogroll.

In the meantime, stay well, stay out of trouble (except the fun kind), and gird your loins against the upcoming Pinktober onslaught.

See you soon!

  1. Even Amazons need a rest so they can full gird their loins on their return. Be well Kathi!

  2. 🙂 Yes, indeed we do, Sarah! Love to you & Ronnie.

  3. I know you will be back with a vengeance, although I will miss you! Sounds like life is, indeed, interesting.

Yes, let’s batten down the hatches for the pink attack!

  4. Miss you!! Don’t you hate when life gets in the way of your plans? Important to just take on what you can; do what needs to be done, the rest can wait. We’ll be here when you get back!

  5. Good luck with your “repairs.” Get some rest, get recharged and come back when you’r ready, although I hope we don’t have to wait too long! Hugs.

  6. I know the feeling. Post Masquerade & the passing of Judith left me farmutshet too!
    When’s vacation?

  7. Thanks, everyone. Some of the ‘repairs’ are fun. The ulcer is steadily improving, the house is getting tidied up, the dryer will be getting fixed shortly, the bathroom & kitchen are getting a bit of a facelift, and I have only seven more days till vacation!! Plus, the weather is fantastic. This is a beautiful time of year in southern New England, and I’m planning to focus on the color orange during the month of October. 😉

Holly, if Judith is who I think she is, I am so very sorry to hear about her passing. Let’s talk soon. xx
