Shameless Self-Promotion

2009 BlogLuxe AwardsThere’s nothing like a little encouragement from a friend to get you going again. Shortly after my last post, I just ran out of steam. Not just for blogging, but for life in general. I was badly in need of the vacation I had to wait two more weeks for. I hadn’t had any time off since I was out of work being treated for breast cancer, which hardly counts. Work was relentless. My house looked like a hurricane swept through it. I still had cancer-related insurance claims to settle up. The day I went up to the big city to get the official results of my last mammogram, a woman drove through a stop sign, hit a car taking a left and pushed it into my new car, which was stopped at the intersection, waiting to turn. My car still needed to be repaired, and the woman who caused the accident had let her car insurance lapse. So, needless to say I was a little worn out. I had things to say here, but no wherewithall, oomph, or what-have-you to say them. Then my friend and blog-sister Coco nominated this blog for an award for “Most Provocative Blog” and I thought I’d better try to live up to that and get to work.

Thanks, Coco! Just what I needed, a little appreciation. And please, everyone, vote for my blog at the above link by clicking on the button. You don’t have to sign up or register or anything & it will take you a half minute. You can visit Coco’s blog at Screaming For Chocolate, which is worth a visit if only to read the tag line, which I love. No, I’m not telling you what it is. Visit and see for yourself.

So, I’ve been drawing up a storm. Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and me, bosom buddies (pun intended). I’m working on a not-exactly-comic strip, which is taking longer than I expected, but so far, so good. Here’s some of it.

  1. PLEASE tell me the part about being positive after a biopsy is NOT about you? I thought everything was clear. Pins and needles here.

  2. When can we expect more? Love the shoes on each frame!
